Furmint 2014

A tantalizing mix of bright fruit, in an elegant, dry style
Sold Out

Grand Cru

This elegant Furmint comes from high atop Eger's most prominent terroir, the Grand Cru Nagy Eged hill. We are lucky to call this site our own, and from it we produce concentrated, mineral-rich wines in small quantities. The Furmint grape is native to our region, and we craft it in a stunning, dry style that pairs wonderfully at the table. The 2014 Furmint was fermented and aged in French and Hungarian oak barrels, on the lees, for 8 months. It is a complex, golden-colored wine with zesty fruit and vivid texture.

Tasting Notes

This Furmint opens with an expressive bouquet that brings mouth-watering appeal. On the palate, a frame of snappy acidity carries a tantalizing mix of stone fruit, pineapple, and pear. The long finish weaves nuances of spice and almonds, threaded with limestone, the signature of our mineral-laden Grand Cru soils. With age, this Furmint will gain additional depth and luxe notes of toasted nuts and baked fruit.
Pairs wonderfully with seafood, Asian cuisine, citrus-roasted chicken, and good friends.
