Grand Bleu 2011

Grand, highly concentrated flavors and aromas

$70.00 per Bottle

Grand Cru

This single-varietal expression of Hungary's native red varietal, Kekrankos, originates from the top of Nagy Eged hill, the best terroir in Eger, and it is the highest planting of the grape in all of Hungary, growing at 1,500 feet above sea level.

Our Grand Bleu is a wine with great depth that exhibits minerality and rich flavors of plum, black cherry and dark chocolate, which are beautifully framed by balanced acids and silky tannins. This wine will age beautifully in the bottle for many years to come.

This stunning vintage received the following accolades:
91 point rating from the Wine Enthusiast
90 point gold medal from the Beverage Tasting Institute's World Wine Championships
Gold Medal at Denver International Wine Festival
Grand Gold Medal at the Prestige Reserve

Tasting Notes

Concentrated aromas of nutmeg, allspice, black cherry, and tobacco greet the nose and are continued on the palate by flavors of plum, black cherry, and plain chocolate, all tied together with balanced acidity and silky tannins.
