This one of a kind an truly unique dry Furmint comes from the 2010 vintage, during which Eger experienced an Indian Summer. Due to these unique weather conditions Eger lost almost all of its harvest, but our 1 hectar of Furmint on Nagy Eged transformed due to the influx of rain and humidity and experienced something usually only reserved for Tokaji dessert wines: A noble rot called botrytis. With this noble rot, the grapes shrivle and concentrate the flavors of the wine, producing a more concentrated and elegant wine that is so rare in Eger, that we do not no when this will happen again.
This elegant Furmint comes from the best terroir in Eger, the Nagy Eged hill. We are lucky to call part of this site our own and from it we produce only our most unique and rare wines. It was fermented and aged in 225 and 500 liter barrels on lees for 8 months. It is a complex, golden colored wine, exhibiting pear and apricot flavors with flinty overtones. It starts with a discreet and elegant aroma and opens into flavors of vanilla, peach and toasted seeds, ending with a pleasant and long finish.
